Cobblers in North East side of JPT draw

Details of the groupings for this season’s Johnstone’s Paint Trophy have been released with the Cobblers once again placed in the North East section of the draw along with some tough looking potential opposition. We were given the inevitable Hartlepool away draw last season and could face a similar fate this time, though tougher looking games would be against either Sheffield club, Huddersfield Town or Scunthorpe United.

Other possibly ties include Bradford City and Burton Albion so we’ll be hoping for a home draw this time around when it’s made on Soccer AM on Saturday, August 13th. We’ve been drawn away seven times in a row in all cup competitions and with the potential distance to travel this time we really need a home game!

New boys AFC Wimbledon are one of eight sides drawn to receive a bye for the first round.
