Austrians sign on!

It’s been talked about all week as we try to hide our pre-season campaign amongst the showing off of skills from unknown substitutes at Sixfields. Those skills were being showcased by Austrian Marin Pozgain during the half-time interval against Nottingham Forest, a 17-year-old midfielder who has now signed a two year contract along with fellow countryman, 18- year-old Lumbardh Salihu, this afternoon.

Both players have been on trial with the club since the start of pre-season but have been closely kept under wraps since then as we put the finishing touches to the deals and dealt with the ins and outs of the contract overseas.

Gary Johnson has talked highly of both men with one eye on the future. We don’t expect them to be thrust straight into first team action but the potential appears to be there for them to kick on under the stewardship of the Cobblers. We just have to hope that their Dads didn’t write to the club asking for them to be given a chance…
