Thursday Headlines… card overturned

John Johnson has had his red card from the Boxing Day defeat to Burton Albion rescinded this afternoon, meaning that he’ll be straight back in the squad for Saturday’s visit from the Robins of Swindon Town. Opinion has been split over whether it was or wasn’t a red but having him in the side for the last game of 2011 is the most important thing. Decide for yourself here.

Christian Dailly is, perhaps surprisingly, not a worship newspaper but instead a veteran defender who was rumoured to be on his way to Sixfields in the next few days. But the former Scotland international has seemingly chosen League Two rivals Southend United as his next destination according to an actual newspaper, The Daily Record.

It appears that Saido Berahino will be extending his Sixfields stay, though. Chronicle and Echo supremo Jefferson Lake tweeted earlier: ‘We’ve had it confirmed that Saido Berahino will be staying at ntfc ‘indefinitely’ (for this season that is)’

Aidy Boothroyd wants ‘more of the same’ from his team going into the Swindon game. Hopefully apart from the result!

Meanwhile, Michael Jacobs insists that he could stay at the club. I did a small blog on the big question of whether we should stick or twist with the deal here.

The Football League show appears to have been axed in a shock move by the BBC. Meanwhile, Match of the Day pundit Alan Hansen has revealed that he will be spending his £40,000 per show wages for the Premier League coverage on a luxury cruise this summer…
