Gary Johnson has emerged and rather than choose Bristol Rovers as his next port of call, he’s shacked up at former club Yeovil Town. It’s mind boggling to see him in a league above but clearly the pull of nostalgia from the club was enough. He replaces Terry Skiverton who will now be reduced to Johnson’s assistant in a move around at Huish Park. It’ll certainly be interesting to see how Johnson does in his second spell with the club and no doubt there will be endless joy around for a while but any Glovers fans that paid any attention to Johnson’s time here will be very wary indeed…good luck to them!
Aidy Boothroyd says that Bayo Akinfenwa still has a role to play at the Cobblers but that the striker will be to be patient as he looks to build his side. There’s also a hint that the big man could look for a short term move away in today’s Chronicle and Echo.
League Two Transfer Window Update…
AFC Wimbledon have signed West Ham’s England Under -19s international George Moncur on a one month loan deal. He is the son of former Hammers midfielder John Moncur.
Rotherham United have also dipped into the loan market as they signed full back Scott Griffths until the end of the season from Peterborough United.
Macclesfield Town today completed the signing of Ben Mills from Nantwich Town for an undisclosed fee that’s said to be into a five figure sum. Mills has scored twelve goals so far this season and goes straight into the Silkmen’s squad for the visit of Torquay United.
